Birth Certificate Attestation in India
The Process of Birth Certificate Attestation, Authentication, Apostille, Legalization or Embassy Attestation varied from country to country as well as the origin of the document from different Indian state. The time frame to complete the Attestation of a Birth Certificate is about three to ten days.
Some country require the Birth Certificate to be attested firstly from the respective state’s Home Department or Regional Attestation Centre (RAC) or any other authorities which is authorized by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), New Delhi after that it should be Attested or Apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs and finally it should be Attested by the Destination Country’s Embassy in India. If the destination country is a Hague Conventional Country, then the Apostille is the final process.
Some country like Czech Republic, Italy etc. require the translation copy of the Apostilled Birth Certificate, but it is an option not the compulsion and it solely depends on the destination Country as well as the purpose.
